The network video recorder (NVR) from the Lite series by Dahua is designed for recording up to 4 IP cameras with a combination of different resolutions up to 12 Mpx storing data on 1x SATA HDD up to 20 TB. The recorder features 5x 10/100 Mbps LAN (4x 802.3af/at PoE), PoE budget of 36W, audio 1/1, 2x USB 2.0, 1x HDMI (4K), 1x VGA, and a DC power connector. The maximum power consumption of the recorder without HDD is 10 W.

Software and Applications

The device comes with free software SmartPSS Lite for managing IP devices, such as NVRs and IP cameras. It allows for easy device discovery, live channel monitoring, recording selected channels according to specified criteria, and playback of recordings. In addition, there is also the DSS Express application, which offers more features, is free for up to 10 connected clients, and is built on a client-server architecture. The more advanced DSS Pro is licensed and offers many more analytical functions. For mobile access, the DMSS application is available, which can be downloaded from official app stores (Google Play/Apple App Store).
