OlifeEnergy SDBPX Solar module for DoubleBox

Expansion Module for standard AC charging stations from OlifeEnergy. It enables the station to communicate with selected inverters used in residential photovoltaic systems (PV). To protect the main circuit breaker from tripping, it is not necessary to purchase the OlifeEnergy SmartMeter; thanks to the SolarModule, it is possible to utilize the smart meter of the solar power system (selected models only). The module can communicate with the inverter via a local network (LAN), wirelessly using Wi-Fi, or through the ModBus TCP Ethernet protocol. In addition, it allows for remote management and configuration of the station over the local network. The integration with the inverter enables the charging station to optimize electric vehicle charging to achieve the highest possible speed while maximizing solar energy efficiency. It operates in two modes – breaker protection (maximum charging speed) and solar charging (maximum efficiency).

Breaker Protection

The vehicle charges at the maximum possible speed. Dynamic power management prevents tripping the main circuit breaker (power consumption is measured at the smart meter location of the inverter). If the building's power consumption increases, charging slows down; if solar generation increases, charging speeds up, and vice versa. High power consumption pauses the charging process.

Solar Charging

Charging is based on the state of charge (SoC) of the battery storage, inverter output, and current inverter load. Only energy generated from the PV system is used, resulting in maximum efficiency and the highest possible savings. A minimum battery reserve can be set to stop charging when a certain level is reached, ensuring sufficient power remains for household use.

This module cannot be used with CLOUD-based stations.
