Expansion Module for standard AC charging stations from OlifeEnergy. It enables the station to communicate with selected inverters for residential photovoltaic systems (PV). This means you don’t need to purchase the OlifeEnergy SmartMeter to protect the main circuit breaker—the SolarModule allows the use of the solar system's existing smart meter (only compatible models). The module can communicate with the inverter over a local network (LAN), wirelessly via Wi-Fi, or through the Ethernet-based ModBus TCP protocol. Additionally, it supports remote management and configuration of the station over the local network. Integration with the inverter enables the station to optimize EV charging to achieve the highest possible charging speed while maximizing the efficiency of solar energy use. It operates in two modes – Breaker Protection (maximum charging speed) and Solar Charging (maximum efficiency).
The vehicle is charged at the highest possible speed. Dynamic load management helps prevent the main breaker from tripping (consumption is measured at the location of the inverter's smart meter). If household consumption increases, charging slows down. If solar output increases, charging speeds up, and vice versa. High household demand may pause charging altogether.
Charging is based on the battery storage’s state of charge (SoC), the inverter’s performance, and current system load. Only energy generated by the PV system is used, ensuring maximum operational efficiency and the highest possible savings. A minimum battery reserve can be set, at which point charging will stop to ensure there is enough power available for the household.
To install the module into OlifeEnergy AC and DoubleBox stations, the SDBPX expansion kit is required. This module is not compatible with CLOUD-based station versions.
